Challenge 1: How does globalization challenge us as professionals in education?
First of all I think that it's necessary to include a definition of globalization. Globalization is a process that includes different aspects such as culture, economy or sociality. When we talk about globalization it's very important to think about the communication between all the different countries in all over the world, because we are trying to find a global character.
It's very important too, that we know how to explain the importance of globalization, because we are future teachers, and the future is in our classmates. An important factor to be able the globalization is using English language like a universal language, and making similar education projects in all the countries of the world.
On my first day of class, we knew the rest of the class, and we saw that we are from many different countries and places. I think it's great in this class!! Then, we made groups, with 8 people each group and mixing the nacionalities.
The first exercise was to do a poster, writting the performance of our educational system and our personal estudies. Then we compared the educationals systems and saw the differences.
Then, we did an individual exercise:
- WHAT DO YOU SEE AS THE 3 BIGGEST CHALLANGES IN THE WORLD TODAY?
- Avoid the war --> I think we can live in peace together and forget the past. We are equal persons and it doesn't matter where do you live or where you are from.
- Avoid racism --> Like I have tell before, all the people is equal, it doesn't matter the colorcast, the country,... we are all persons.
- Avoid or reduce the pollution --> I think that we live from the nature. We live in the earth, we eat that the earth give us, and we are contaminating it. This is producing the global warming, and the people don't belive it yet in it, but the consecuences are going to be huge.
- HOW CAN YOU WORK ON THAT AS A PROFESSIONAL?
- As a proffesional I have to teach my pupils, that the globalization is very important for all of us. I tell them the advantages and I teach them what they can do to allow it possible. I can teach them to recycle for example. There are a lot of ways to do it. Especially I try to use the English language as far as I can, because it's the most important factor I think. I can show them also the change in the weather during these years because in Spain, the weather has changed a lot and we can recycle and get more care of the nature to try to solve this problem.
Secondly, we compare the answers with the rest of the group and we decided the 3 biggest challanges for all the grup.
